The 2025 models of these two trucks offer drivers a great choice of engines to choose from. This allows you to decide on the type of performance and capability you want to get out of your full-size pickup truck. With respect to the 2025 Chevy Silverado 1500, you get to choose from four engines, while the 2025 Ram 1500 has three powertrain options. Still, the one with the best towing capacity is the Silverado 1500 with a 3.0-liter Duramax turbo-diesel I-6, with which you can tow up to 13,300 lbs, with an impressive 305 hp and 495 lb-ft of torque. In addition, if you want a diesel engine on your truck, you have to opt for a Chevy since the Ram 1500 doesn’t offer engines of this fuel type.

Ram offers a solid selection of engines on the 2025 Ram 1500, but they just don’t compare to the ones on the Silverado 1500. The main engine is a 3.6-liter Pentastar V6.
