Chevrolet’s Rich History

Chevrolet has a rich history, one of the most respected in the industry. Making its way onto the scene in 1911, Chevrolet was the new kid in town, with Ford confidently ahead of the game, but that wouldn’t last long. Chevrolet was founded by Swiss racecar driver Louis Chevrolet and GM mogul William C. Durant, with a mission to revolutionize the auto industry. You see, not everyone could afford such luxuries as an automobile, which meant the early industry catered to the elite. Chevrolet successfully changed all of that.

Designing and building vehicles with modern amenities, like electric starters and anti-lock brakes, yet making them affordable, so that everyone could have a chance to drive an automobile, quickly set Chevrolet up for success. For the first time, the everyday driver was able to buy an affordable, dependable, and stylish vehicle loaded with features not found in its rivals. This goal continued to act as the pillar of the Chevrolet brand, as it released more vehicles over the decades to appeal to drivers of all walks of life. From the famous 1957 Chevrolet Bel Air, which sported fins and cat-eye headlights, to sports cars like the ultra-fast Corvette and sleek Camaro, the Chevy name was emblazoned on a variety of vehicles.

Perhaps what continues to make Chevrolet so incredible is its versatility, from a selection of tough pickup trucks for the jobsite and beyond to an arsenal of electric vehicles designed for the future. No matter what type of vehicle you are looking for, rest assured that Chevrolet has made sure it resides in its inventory, which is what continues to propel this American favorite to the head of the pack, even to this day. If you’re looking for a selection of vehicles that has the needs of the average American driver in mind, Chevrolet won’t disappoint, and you’ll find all of your Chevy favorites right here on our lot.

The Modern Chevy Lineup

One of Chevrolet’s most significant traits is its versatility. Chevy makes excellent vehicles in nearly every vehicle class and in various sizes within them. So whether you’re shopping for a sedan, SUV, or truck, not only does Chevy make an option for you, but they make several. Here’s a look at their various models and which driver each one might be right for.

Chevy SUVs

For Energetic Drivers: The Trax

When customers tell us that they want a quality subcompact SUV but are shopping with a tight budget, we are excited to show them the Trax. Its car-like dimensions make it not only incredibly easy to handle but also a highly fuel-efficient option. So it doesn’t just leave money in your wallet when you buy it, but also each time you fill up at the pump. Its great fuel economy also makes it right for cruisers, so if you’re looking for a great road trip vehicle while building your financial future, check out the Trax.

For Adventurers: The Trailblazer

The Trailblazer is yet another subcompact SUV offering from Chevrolet, but it’s a bit different from the Trax in that it has available all-wheel drive (the Trax only has front-wheel drive). The Trailblazer is always ready for rainy days and poorly maintained roads, making it great for adventurers. Even better is it can tow a modest amount. The Trailblazer also has impressive fuel economy and is great for anyone looking to save on gas.

For the Tech-Forward: The Equinox

The Equinox is Chevy’s compact SUV that delivers sophisticated styling and terrific in-vehicle technology at a fair price. It’s going to offer slightly more passenger and cargo volume than the Trailblazer or Trax while still boasting easy-to-maneuver dimensions and good fuel economy. Its attractive aesthetic gives it a slightly more “grownup” look compared to the subcompact models. We love to show it to professionals looking for a vehicle they’d proudly take clients to lunch in. All of the great infotainment features throughout the Equinox make it a favorite among tech-savvy drivers, too.

For the Sophisticated: The Blazer

The Blazer is Chevy’s midsize SUV with seating for five and significantly more cargo and passenger space than the Equinox. We like to show it to drivers who believe they will utilize all five seats regularly, so they can’t afford to sacrifice a rear seat to make more cargo room. The large trunk of the Blazer denotes room for everyone and everything. It can tow more than twice what the Equinox can, but it’s still sophisticated in its aesthetics. The Blazer is great for a chameleon who spends some time working and some time playing.

For Savvy Families: The Traverse

The three-row Traverse has seating for eight and is the last fuel-efficient gas-engine SUV before we get into the beefier full-size options. If you need seating for eight but do not want to go all the way up to a full-size SUV and all of the steel and gas costs that come with it, check out the Traverse. It has comfortable seats, great safety features, and loads of thoughtful convenience features throughout its cabin. Plus, you start to see Chevy’s Z71 off-road trim appear on the Traverse. This model is large but still nimble because it's built on a car-like platform, whereas the larger Tahoe and Suburban are on truck-like platforms.

For Serious Space Needs: The Suburban or Tahoe

Now we get to Chevy’s largest SUVs—the Suburban and Tahoe. They share the same engine options, including a couple of V8 engines and a Turbo-Diesel. Driving one of these SUVs will feel similar to driving a truck. They’re made for anyone who needs to keep eight passengers comfortable on long drives. Their interiors feel like living rooms, and they’re packed with smart features for carpool and road trip life.

The Suburban is longer than the Tahoe, so if you need to get sports gear, big grocery trip loot, coolers full of snacks, and four-legged friends in your SUV, get the Suburban. The Suburban is larger overall, from its wheelbase to interior volume. For that reason, it costs a bit more than the Tahoe.

Chevy Sedans

For Cruisers and Commuters: The Malibu

The Malibu is presently Chevy’s only sedan, but it makes such a good showing that maybe it’s all we need for now. This midsize sedan has a spacious cabin and is known for its incredibly smooth handling. It also has a timeless exterior design that looks right at home in cosmopolitan areas and chic tourist destinations. It’s inspired by the laid-back charm of a coastal town in California, and you’ll feel that when you experience its easy handling and comfortable seats.

For Speed Demons: The Corvette

The Corvette is ready to hit the tracks and do some laps. It’s one of Chevy’s most iconic sports cars, out since 1953, and is made for speed. It has a huge engine roaring under its hood, begetting excellent acceleration, precise handling, and race-track-ready styling. It comes in coupe or convertible configurations to appeal to different lifestyles and driving behaviors.

For Classic Car Lovers: The Camaro

The Camaro is also a race car but more of a muscle car. While the Corvette is sleek and elegant, the Camaro is aggressive and rugged. It has a generous number of trims and several engine options, so you can choose one that best fits your personality. The Camaro has been in the Chevy family since 1966, so it’s a staple in this lineup—and it's also available in coupe and convertible options.

Chevy Trucks

For Tradesmen and DIYers: The Silverado 1500

The Silverado is Chevy’s full-size truck series, and within that are several weight classes. The light-duty option is the 1500, which is best for those with work to do but not necessarily industrial-level tasks ahead of them. It has a large selection of engines, ranging from fuel-efficient to impressively powerful—and that speaks to its overall configurable nature, as you can choose from different powertrains, bed and cab setups, and trims to create the Silverado 1500 that’s right for your work.

For Serious Workers: The Silverado 2500 & 3500

The Silverado 2500 and 3500 are the heavy-duty variants of the 1500. They’re going to have larger towing capacities, larger payload capacities, bigger engines, and—accordingly—bigger price tags. If you need to tow massive pieces of equipment or cart commercial-size trailers, you'll need a heavy-duty Silverado.

The Silverado 2500 and 3500 also come in a variety of trims, ranging from stripped-down work trucks to luxury models that rival the comforts of full-size SUVs.

For Part-Time Professionals: The Colorado

The Colorado is a midsize truck that combines light-duty capabilities with nearly car-like handling. It’s right for someone who needs a truck bed for occasional and minimal applications but still wants good fuel economy and easy-to-park dimensions. It can be a commuter and everyday vehicle, but it’s also ready to handle modest towing and payload jobs.

We love that every driver—regardless of driving habits, daily schedule, cargo needs, passenger needs, or budget—can find something terrific in the Chevy lineup. Chevy doesn’t just make a vehicle in every category, but a high-quality vehicle in every category! If one of these piques your interest, our team can explain its trim options in further detail to help you best select your ideal model.
