Ruge’s Chevrolet Takes on Miles of Hope Walk
Mile after mile, we’re all on this journey of life TOGETHER.
This is especially true in our small, close-knit communities, which make the Hudson Valley region so unique. When our customers, colleagues, and neighbors enjoy milestone events in their lives, we want to help them celebrate. And when they are going through challenges, we want to help them navigate.
That said, we’ve always paid it forward by sharing our time and resources with organizations who enrich life for others. Among the many groups we support, who work tirelessly every day to make meaningful differences, is Miles of Hope Breast Cancer Foundation.
First established in 2004, Miles for Hope has spent nearly two decades carrying out its mission to fund support services and outreach for people affected by breast cancer within the nine counties of the Hudson Valley (Columbia, Dutchess, Putnam, Westchester, Rockland, Orange, Ulster, Greene, and Sullivan). Since its inception, Miles for Hope Breast Cancer Foundation has donated over $2.8 million to Hudson Valley residents affected by breast cancer! Totally awe-inspiring.
At Ruge’s Chevrolet, we are committed to helping them continue to do the wonderful work they’ve always done. That said, this year about half a dozen of our team members at Ruge’s will participate in the 20th Annual Miles of Hope Community Walk for Breast Cancer! The event is set to take place on Sunday, October 1st at James Baird State Park!
In addition to enjoying some fellowship and fun as they traverse the paths that day in honor of this great cause, our team will also be raising FUNDS! And, on top of that, Ruge’s is sponsoring the event as well in the amount of $500.
Said Kristin Ruge Hutchins, President and CEO of Ruge’s, “Miles for Hope Breast Cancer Foundation has made so many positive contributions to our region. From direct financial assistance and college scholarships for families to peer-to-peer counseling for those who are newly diagnosed or undergoing treatment, their programs and services can really brighten the tough days for people. It is a great privilege for us to support their work. Our team members look forward to the walk each year, and we encourage our customers and fellow community members to get involved as well – whether by donating directly or attending one of their many events. Every dollar raised counts!”
